Emerald Room | Emerald Editions serves as the exclusive global representative for the fine art prints of Teruko Yokoi, and represents a significant group of paintings and works on paper, with particular focus on early San Francisco and New York works, Paris period paintings, and mid-career Bern works. In addition, Emerald Room functions as the Estate’s lead archival partner for paintings.
Working in close collaboration with the Estate, Emerald Room oversees the long-term scholarly stewardship of Yokoi’s work, including archival research, catalogue raisonné development, and institutional coordination. Emerald Room also serves as the primary point of contact for museums, curators, scholars, and publishers seeking access to archival materials, high-resolution images, and authoritative research related to the artist’s practice. This structure reflects the Estate’s commitment to accuracy, contextual rigor, and responsible access.

Archival and Scholarly Role
Emerald Room maintains and develops the Estate archive in consultation with the Yokoi family and institutional partners. Its work includes the organization and preservation of primary source materials, printmaking records, exhibition histories, correspondence, and technical documentation related to Yokoi’s studio practice.
Access to archival materials is provided to museums, curators, and approved scholars through a structured request process, ensuring that research, exhibition, and acquisition initiatives are supported with verified and authoritative information.
Institutional Engagement
Emerald Room works directly with museums and public institutions on acquisitions, loans, and scholarly programming. This engagement includes curatorial research support, contextual guidance, and assistance in situating Yokoi’s work within broader narratives of postwar abstraction, cross-cultural modernism, and the international contributions of women artists in the mid-twentieth century.
